Sports
Treatments are a special form of bodywork typically used before,
during, and after athletic events helping to prepare the athlete for
peak performance, drain away fatigue, relieve swelling, reduce muscle
tension, promote flexibility, and to prevent injuries with pre-event,
post-event and maintenance techniques.
The main purpose of a Sports Treatment is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissues during physical activity. Where minor injuries and lesions occur due to overexertion and or overuse, bodywork can break them down
quickly and
effectively. Sports Treatments can help prevent those niggling injuries
whether a person is a professional athlete or a once a week jogger.
Each type of sport has different demands on the player’s muscle groups in different ways and each Sports Treatment is designed to address those specific concerns that may differ according to the sport the athlete plays. This treatment is aimed to help heal strained muscles and allow healthy ones to reach peak performance and maintain it while minimizing the risk of injury.
